IU (아이유; born May 16, 1993), is a South Korean actress, model, and singer-songwriter.
IU was a trainee for 10 months before making her debut as a solo artist on September 18, 2008 with the mini album Lost and Found. She debuted on September 18, 2008 under Kakao M (formerly LOEN Entertainment). On January 6th 2020, it was announced that IU has now signed a contract with EDAM Entertainment.
She achieved her breakthrough with the single Good Day in 2010.
