TWICE’s Leader Jihyo Diagnoses With COVID-19 Positive Ahead Of Group’s Comeback

 


TWICE’s Leader Jihyo has tested positive with COVID-19.

JYP Entertainment revealed on
n August 24,  that the idol was diagnosed with COVID-19 through an official statement that reads as follows:

"This is JYP Entertainment.
We are sorry to inform you that TWICE member Jihyo has tested positive for COVID-19 through a rapid antigen test on August 24.
After using a self-testing kit on August 24 at 10:30 a.m., she underwent a rapid antigen test and was officially diagnosed with COVID-19. She is currently quarantined and recuperating in accordance with the guidelines of the health authorities.
We apologize for causing concern to our fans and all the parties concerned.
We will put the artist’s health first and do our best for her quick recovery.
Thank you."


At the time of writing, JYP Entertainment has not revealed if any other TWICE members have tested positive for the virus. They have also not confirmed if Jihyo will be absent from promotional activities for the group’s imminent release, ‘Between 1&2’, to comply with health guidelines.

TWICE is scheduled to release their 11th mini album “BETWEEN 1&2” on August 26 at 1 p.m. KST.
